The land of ook
The Land of Ook stretches from the western coast of the Great Continent to the Ookeh Mountains to the North, stopping at the Zorianos Bassin mountain chain to the East and the edge of the Lotlein forest to the South. These lands consist of long stretches of grassy hills and old, smoothed mountains, separated by slithering rapids and rivers, all melding together to shape a unique and charming landscape.
Being the home of one of the most widespread species on Etaliari, the Land of Ook is littered with villages, settlements and towns, along the coast, in the hills and even in the mountains. The capital of the Ook is the Citadel of Silver, the second largest city on Etaliari. The entire city is made of a pale marble extracted from the Ookeh mountains, polished to shine under the sun like a pearl, giving it its signature name. Built with high, thick walls all around its perimeter, this is the safest city on Etaliari; not a single Zara has ever made its way in, and the guards of the citadel will proudly repeat that fact to travelers. The citadel is home to many schools, huge markets, temples and large districts, each with their own specialties and uniqueness. The city is always alive; in the day, the streets are filled with traders, stands, restaurants and citizens tending to their business, and at night, the streets light up with the crystalposts that line the city in a beautiful display of lights that rival the beauty of the stars above.
The Land of Ook is home to the Greater Elder Clan of the Empress of Etaliari, Lady Miassly Isluya. The Greater Elder Clan is found in the King's District, on the highest hill of the Citadel. The Empress has eyes and ears all around her city; the walls may be thick, she still knows all. The King himself rarely ever makes public appearances, to the point that some question his existence or if he's even still alive. He does, however, still have some sort of say in the governing of the Citadel, as he acts through his Black Hunters, the King's Blades.
North of the Citadel, along the Ookeh mountains, one may find, in the colder northern air, many hot springs lead by various clans, which attract many travelers for a good rest. The Ookeh mountains themselves are home to the isolated Ookeh Monks, an ancient order of Black Hunters that have separated themselves from the capital long ago, and have resorted to a life of simplicity in the snowy peaks. There, they devote themselves entirely to the King and the Land, in endless isolation. The Monks attract many Nameless Ikrouks in search of a home, or a place to find a new purpose.
Along the western coast of the Land of Ook, one will find many fishing towns and trading settlements bustling with traders, merchants and boats. From there, trading boats have access to most other trading posts along the shores of the Great Continent by going South, which contributes to the Ook’s expansion around the world.
