The world of Etaliari
Our Home, our Land
Etaliari is an ancient world, one shrouded in mysteries, strange lands and hidden, arcane secrets, lying in wait in the deepest depths and the highest peaks of this world. In the ancient and forgotten tongue of the Celestials, Etaliari means "Home"; it is said the Lonely One gave the planet this name, making it a safe home not only for himself but for its inhabitants as well.
The lands of Etaliari are separated in three; a supercontinent called the Great Continent, the archipelago of Iznugia, and the Great Ocean. Down below, you will be able to learn about all of those locations, as well as all the countries located on the Great Continent!

The Great Continent
The Great Continent is a supercontinent; it is the only stretch of land on Etaliari that is connected to the planet's ground, and houses most of the world's countries. The countries are separated with natural borders, rivers, mountains and forests, which also separate the many habitats and climates that can be found here. From endless plains and hills to giant jungles to hollow mountains, from forests of stone mushrooms to arid dunes to coral forests of intertwining rivers, you can find anything imaginable in this world.
The countries that the Ikrouks have created over time are the following:
The Land of Ook - The country of the Ook Ikrouk
The Forests of Lotlein - The country of the Lotlar Ikrouk
The Ssarh'isse Desert - The country of the Ssarh Ikrouk
The Zorianos Bassin - The country of the Zorianos Ehas
The Lumalisse Coast - The country of the Lumara Ikrouk
The Rakuri Mountains - The country of the Rakureh Ikrouk
The land of Urayheim - The country of the Urayite Ikrouk

The Great Ocean
The Great Ocean is as it is named; most of Etaliari is covered in a giant pool of water, littered with small floating islands that wander across its endless stretches of blue. While the Great Ocean appears vast and empty on the surface, its depths hide many habitats, regions and all sorts of life forms. The depths may be home to the Ehas that live out there, the surface is home to the brave Ikrouks that sail the seas, each pursuing their own goals. Discovering new islands, new creatures and themselves, there is no limit to what one may find out there, in the vast blue…
The Sky and the moons
The skies of Etaliari count as their own habitat, as they too house many places disconnected from the ground, many still hidden from the eyes of Ikrouk-kind. These may be floating islands hidden in the clouds, or even rare specimens of Flying Colossi, giant beasts roaming the skies with bodies so large they are said to hold cities upon them.
On Etaliari, the Corruption does not only affect the ground, with its Crimson Flowers and the flow of its golden blood, but it also affects the sky and how it appears to us. The fumes of Corruption flow into the clouds, giving them tainted purple hues; when the Corruption is low, the clouds are light and lavender to the eye, but when it grows in density and the air becomes unbreathable, the clouds become darker and bleaker shades of purple, red and magenta. It is rare indeed that the skies will be clear to see its true blue beauty, especially at night, where the stars will often be hidden behind unseen clouds. The only things that the sky will never hide, however, are the moons of Etaliari.
The moons are often called the Sisters; the Young Sister, the smaller of the two, is called Eilina, while the Big Sister, the large moon that takes up a large portion of the sky, is called Arkuzia. While Eilina circles the planet regularly and forms the cycle of day and night on Etaliari, Arkuzia’s cycle is much, much slower, so much so that to any normal Ikrouk she appears to never move from her spot in the sky, while Eilina continues to circle around with the sun. Arkuzia is not any normal moon, however; it is more akin to a dwarf planet in orbit around the giant Etaliari. It indeed holds life, and a completely different ecosystem than what can be found on Etaliari. Their inhabitants, rare as they come, are a distant cousin species to the Ikrouks… the Arkuzians. Only a handful of them can be found today on Etaliari’s grounds, and not much is known about their society.

A little about hometrees...
When an Ikrouk, by itself or with its clanmates, finds a suitable place to settle down and build their roost, they will plant what is commonly known as a “hometree”. This tree will grow at the center of their settlement, and the home and clan will grow along with the tree, with the household being built either around the tree as it gets taller, or inside it if it’s a “hollow” variety, as is common to find in Lotlein and Iznugia, for example. The roots of the hometree are often considered the most sacred place in a settlement, and will usually be places of worship for Mother Koth, or any Guardian that watches over the land. Ikrouks tend to the health of the hometree very carefully, as they view the health of the tree as the health of their clan; a strong, bulky tree makes for a strong clan with strong ties, while a sick, dried up tree will make for a broken family.
The size and type of trees vary depending on the land and country it is from;

- the Lotlar will plant a titan tree, which grows hollow and immensely tall and dense with life, with its roots spreading like vines far around the tree in a complex network;
- the Ook will plant a namai tree, which grows slim and straight but tall with roots that dig deep underground;
- and the Ssarh will plant a bulra tree, which grows thickly with a very bulky bark and round shapes, with their thick roots digging deep underground to seek water.
