The usual colouration of a Lotlar: The Lotlar are among the most colourful Ikrouks, with both males and females bearing incredibly flashy and bright coats with a wide array of colours painted upon them. Males tend to have the most different colours mixed together in one coat, while females generally stick to one or two shades; that is so males can impress females, but nowadays they are all mostly trying to impress each other regardless of gender.
As per all Ikrouk subspecies rules, a Lotlar cannot have a completely white coat; this trait is reserved to Pale Ones.

The General Anatomy: The Lotlar's body shape is often described by most as "bouncy". Featuring long legs with long fingers, a long tail and short wings, the Lotlar are just as bouncy and hoppy as their description says. A Lotlar's beak is smooth on its top, but sturdy, perfect for cracking nuts and fruit shells open. Their wings are always short, as they have evolved to thrive in a dense jungle habitat, filled with vines and twisting roots that climb and twirl high into the canopy of their homes. Their short wings are good for tight turns and for hopping around between the branches of the trees, helped by their long prehensile tail. The talons of a Lotlar consist of four long fingers, equipped with long and sharp claws, that can rotate far enough from their original point that they can get a hold on anything they grab, similar to a parrot's talons.
These colourful birds like to impress each other not only with their colours, but also by flashing their incredibly long tails and put them on display, akin to birds of paradise. Their long furry tail is used to grab hold of branches in the canopy of their forest, and is primordial to their balancing.

The Culture
The Lotlar are seen as the most light-hearted and jolly community on Etaliari. Their forests are filled with songs, music and festivals, both on the floor and amongst the canopy. Some might see them as a lazy community that puts having fun and prancing about over working and surviving, but that is only based on what is seen, not what is known. This community is mysterious in its own ways; shamanic rituals, quiet marches through the woods, listening to the voices of the forest... The Lotlar are very close to their natural habitat, living in the canopy of their titan trees, and so are the Ikrouks that are the most connected to magic runes. Lotlar children are encouraged to study those ancient runes and even inscribe them on their skin, so they can "hear the leaves in the winds above you, feel the earth beneath you, smell the water flowing around you, and touch the fire burning inside you".
Their cities can be found perched on the titan trees of their forests, and rarely on the ground. Their architecture is viewed by many as some of the most impressive to pull off, being entirely out of twisting wood, roots and bridges that connect the hometrees together.
Because the Lotlar are a people of magic with many Sorcerers and Witches, they do not mix well with the Ook, who view magic users with disdain, and Lotlar are rarely allowed in their cities unless they prove to not bear any runes or they are traders.
